Has Sportmix Ever Been Recalled?

Yes. In late December 2020, certain lots of Sportmix dog and cat foods were recalled after testing showed high levels of aflatoxin in the food. Less than 2 weeks later, in January 2021, that recall was vastly expanded to include additional dates and varieties of Sportmix.

The U.S. Food and Safety Administration (FDA) said it was aware of “at least 70 in dogs” who had been fed the affected products. Aflatoxin is a mold byproduct. Full details of the Sportmix recalls appear directly below.
