The company, Top Quality Dog Food, says testing of a sample of its Beef HVM dog food came up positive for salmonella and listeria bacteria, and the lot number listed above is being recalled out of caution.
No illnesses have been reported thus far, the company says.

The company, Top Quality Dog Food, says testing of a sample of its Beef HVM dog food came up positive for salmonella and listeria bacteria, and the lot number listed above is being recalled out of caution.
No illnesses have been reported thus far, the company says.
Top Quality Dog Food calls itself "a family owned and operated raw pet food manufacturer and wholesaler" with headquarters in Hyattsville, Maryland. "Our motto is to keep recipes as close to the way nature intended — Truly Raw," the company says on its website.
The mix of ingredients in the Beef HVM (Healthy Variety Mix) product includes ground beef, heart, liver, kidney, spleen, lung, kale, celery, carrots and a few other vegetables and fruits.
The affected product was distributed by mail order or direct delivery from July 27 to Aug. 2 to customers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Customers with recalled product have been notified, according to the company. Here is what the label looks like:
