ALDI Company Overview
ALDI, a grocery chain known for its cost-saving store model and budget-friendly prices, claims that its unique approach to product selection and store layout results in a significant impact both in-store and on the consumer's budget. The company asserts that it hand-selects and curates high-quality products to offer the best items at the best price, rather than providing multiple choices of the same item.
Established in 1976, ALDI's stated primary focus has been to provide high-quality food at the lowest possible prices. The company emphasizes its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its decisions. It demonstrates this through its U.S. Code of Conduct, which it says is a testament to its dedication to integrity and effecting lasting change in communities.
ALDI asserts that it closely monitors the ingredients and materials of its products, adhering to strict guidelines to ensure organic, BPA-free, and GMO-free offerings. The company claims to be committed to human rights and fair labor practices, requiring its suppliers to comply with social standards in production.
The company also touts its 'Better-for-You' brands, which are designed to cater to various dietary interests, needs, or concerns, including organic, certified gluten-free products, and meats without antibiotics, added hormones, or animal byproducts.
ALDI traces its origins back to 1961, when the Albrecht Family opened the world’s first discount grocery store in Germany, maintaining a guiding principle that great quality should be paired with everyday low prices. The company’s history is marked by over 40 years of adhering to this principle.
ALDI, in association with Pet Brands Products, LLC, has been involved in offering pet products such as the Pure Being Cat Advent Calendars and Pure Being Dog Advent Calendars. However, they had to recall these products due to a potential choking hazard as a precautionary measure after receiving customer complaints. ALDI is known for taking the safety and integrity of its products seriously and advises customers to return affected products for a full refund. This incident underlines ALDI's commitment to product safety and quality as part of its wider business operations
