The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an advisory regarding specific lots of Darwin’s Natural Pet Products BioLogics Dog Food after testing confirmed contamination with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. The advisory warns that these pathogens pose risks to both pets and humans through handling or exposure. The affected product details are as follows:

- Lot Numbers: Lot 11826 (MFG Date: Jul 07, 2025) and Lot 11895 (MFG Date: Jul 29, 2025)
- Packaging: 2-pound white and clear plastic packages with “BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free” in orange lettering; each package is divided into four half-pound units; lot codes printed on the front lower left corner

- Thoroughly wash your hands after handling the product or cleaning contaminated surfaces. Health Risks:
- Pets infected with Salmonella may show vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, loss of appetite, and decreased activity. Pets infected with Listeria may show diarrhea, fever, anorexia, depression, or more severe nervous and respiratory signs. Infected pets can also shed bacteria without appearing sick.
- Humans exposed to Salmonella may develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps; severe cases can lead to hospitalization. Listeria infection in humans can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, or loss of balance. Pregnant women, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals are at higher risk of severe illness.
