Bravo Company Overview
A meat business started in 1942 branched into pet food, and Bravo was born. Later, the company expanded into raw and natural ingredients for pet food, based on products the company already made.
Today, Bravo boasts natural ingredients and antibiotic-free poultry ingredients. Some of the brand’s products are said to have no more than 5 ingredients.
In 2014, Bravo Pet Foods underwent a major branding redesign, which included a fresh logo and updated packaging. The new logo introduced a snappy “Make good happen” tagline, designed to “communicate the brand’s feel-good mission,” according to Pet Business magazine.
Has There Ever Been a Bravo Recall?
There have been Bravo recalls, according to our research. In recent years, Bravo recalled a number of occasions — at least 8 recalls in all, according to research from Petful.
Most recently, in December 2015 and a few months earlier in July 2015, Bravo recalled certain packages of its chicken-based foods for dogs and cats because of the potential for salmonella contamination. Some Bravo products were also recalled in September 2014 and May 2014 over concerns about salmonella and listeria.

In addition to the voluntary recall of the above products, Bravo issued a voluntary withdrawal of the following poultry products from the marketplace:
- All sizes (2 lb., 5 lb., 10 lb.) of Bravo Chicken Blends, Bravo Turkey Blends, Bravo Balance Chicken Balance and Bravo Balance Premium Turkey Formula frozen raw diet products with “best by” dates between June 20, 2016, and Sept. 18, 2016.
May 2014
