Dorothy Wills-Raftery is an author and photojournalist who was inspired by her five Siberian Huskies to create FiveSibes.com. When her Gibson was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy, she became a Purple Day® ambassador and launched the #LiveGibStrong Online K-9 Epilepsy Resource Library & #Paws4Purple educational initiative. Her published K9 books are: Wolfie, What is the Rainbow Bridge? (written with her grandson); EPIc Dog Tales: Heartfelt Stories About Amazing Dogs Living & Loving Life With Canine Epilepsy; What’s Wrong With Gibson? Learning About K-9 Epilepsy; Getting Healthy With Harley; and Buddy, the Christmas Husky: A True Holiday Miracle. She hosted “The Sibe Vibe” podcast aired on Dog Works Radio & iTunes. A longtime member of the Dog Writers Association of America, she is a multi-recipient of their Maxwell Medallion. In 2017, she was named Pet Woman of the Year finalist for Women in the Pet Industry, and she’s been featured as a “Dog Family Mom” in American Dog Magazine.
