New here..need advice on possibly pregnant cat..please (1 reply)
Hello..I have a female cat that escaped the house on Feb 4th. Soon after she started exhibiting signs of pregnancy. I took her to the vet 3 weeks ago to have it confirmed and the vet said he thought she was only pregnant with one kitten. She is now 69 days along and has been showing signs of labor the last week. Licking her bottom..not eating as much..sleeping..wandering the house..very skittish..doesnt want to be touched. I have also seen ripples along her side's and on her back. I took her to the vet today and a different vet examined her and said she is not pregnant. He basically dismissed me. I swear I can feel a kitten very low in her belly..near her bottom. I don't know what to do at this point. She never got very big but did gain weight in her belly. I assumed she wasn't big because it was only 1 kitten. Any advice would be so appreciated.
Hi. I can certainly see how this would be an upsetting (and perplexing) situation for you. However, it's probably impossible even for a veterinarian to know what's going on without a proper examination of your cat. If I were in your shoes, I would seek out a second opinion immediately. I wouldn't settle for being "basically dismissed" when it comes to my pet's health. I hope everything works out for you! Please give an update when you learn more.
