What a terrific match: Snowy, a Staffordshire/Boston Terrier mix with 3 legs, has formed a special bond with Ella Peggie, a toddler who was born with just 1 arm.
Brooke Hodgson of Queensland, Australia, says that when she saw a picture of Snowy online, she knew the dog was just what her child needed for companionship and reassurance.
AWLQ Gold Coast Rehoming Centre, which adopted Snowy out to Hodgson, says: “Ella and Snowy are the same age [both 1 year old] and have a long life of friendship ahead of them. They will be able to face the world knowing that they aren’t alone in their differences.”
According to Hodgson, each day at home is filled with kisses.
“They snuggle up together, and Ella gives her kisses all the time,” says Hodgson. “And I’ve noticed every morning, Snowy [looks] for Ella first before she runs to anyone else. It’s quite a unique bond and just beautiful to see that. I know it will make a world of a difference for Ella.”
It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, though. Ella, who had never been around animals, was skeptical in the beginning. But within a few days, Snowy had won her over with his charm.
It is said there is a match for everyone, and it looks as if Ella has met hers.
