Move Over Cats — The Dog Cafe Has Arrived

Sip coffee, play with dogs and adopt one! Yep, dog cafes are now a thing.

Cat cafes? Neat idea, but that’s soooo old news.

Now the kitties have some competition from the dogs, because a dog cafe isn’t only an idea — it’s in operation.

The Dog Cafe opened recently in Los Angeles, at the corner of Virgil and Silver Lake Boulevard. The cafe is still being worked on, but the canine side is in full swing.

Patrons pay $10 for 55 minutes with the dogs and access to coffee. Dogs range from puppies to seniors and post-ops, but here’s the best part: They’re all up for adoption.

If you want to visit, you’ll need to sign a waiver (for the dogs’ safety and yours). The grand opening is scheduled for April 7, 2016.

I can’t wait, and I think dog cafes might be even more popular than the feline version.
