Wild Calling! Pet Food

No recalls. Brand may be discontinued.

Wild Calling! was founded in 2012 by Tim Petersen and his sons, Jeremy and Trevar, in an attempt to create the desired dog food to feed their own pets, something they couldn’t find on the market at the time.

The food was said to contain 96% meat — “a savagely high proportion of meat,” according to the company — with only vitamins and minerals added. It was a 2014 Pet Product News Editors’ Choice for Best Dog Food.

Jeremy Petersen, when asked about how Western values are reflected in Wild Calling!, said: “We’re open, honest and transparent. We’re not trying to pull the wool over people’s eyes. When you think of a cowboy or someone in the West, they’re honest; it’s an honest businessperson mentality.”

In June 2018, Wild Calling! was acquired by Barkstrong, LLC following bankruptcy proceedings. Then, less than 1 year later, Barkstrong itself underwent bankruptcy proceedings. As of August 2019, the Wild Calling! website is no longer functional, so the future is unclear for this brand.
